I've completed another challenge drawing for Colored Pencil Magazine. This was a lesson in patience and concentration. The smooth stones were relatively easy, but the stones with facets and striations were more difficult to pick out and keep track of.
Reference Photo is by Sally Robertson, copyright free
Drawing is Prismacolor Premier colored pencil with odorless mineral spirits and gel pen on mixed media paper
Finished piece is 5" x 9"

I really should include the pencils in the pic, but I scanned this for my challenge entry and didn't feel like taking another pic. But, it is full. To see that they look so real that I'm fooling people.

How long did this take to draw?
I didn't time it. But each rock took about 30 minutes to an hour to complete.

How long have I been working with colored pencil?
I was introduced to the medium as a serious art tool in the early 90's. Then I had 5 babies, raised one of them to adulthood, and picked them up again and started learning how to manipulate the medium by using additional tools and methods. Picked them up seriously in April, of this year. Still learning.

Thank you for all of your kind words.
