I've been seeing some cute baby quilts popping up on the front page and wanted to share the one I made for my little guy  Smiley Slightly more blanket than quilt, but I think it fits here  Wink

I had this diamond design in mind and it was diamonized even farther when shopping with a toddler because I asked for the wrong amount of fabric to be cut. So instead of spending more money I cut the fabric for the back and front at an angle to make it more diamond shaped and shuffled pieces around to fit the corners  Smiley So the front of the blanket has corners that match the back, aaaaand:

...the back has corners made from the fabric I used on the front diamonds.

I used flannel fabrics and put a layer of batting between. I love how cozy it turned out! And it's big enough for him to grow with (also makes a nice mommy lap blanket  Wink )

Here are the diamonds after I surged the edges

I sewed them on without interfacing but if I were to do it again I would fuze them onto the blanket first. Even though I used all my pins to hold them in place they still wiggled while sewing.

And some action shots  Cheesy

More pictures on my blog  Smiley Thanks for looking!  Cheesy

I'm not online as much as I used to be, don't panic if it takes a while for me to reply to things Smiley.
