We've been having lots of fun over at the Open Tin Swap (here's the gallery so far). My partner, edelC, had such fun themes on her list. I almost chose "circus", but I've done so many circus tins that I was worried it wouldn't be original enough. edel needed something made just for her. So, knowing she loves flamingos, I decided to go there.

I found the little flamingos on etsy. They were solid pink, so I used a tiny detail brush and some acrylic paint to add details. The grass came from a little square of astroturf I've had forever. I just knew that would come in handy some day! And that trim! That and the glitter just add to the kitschy goodness. The stand and the finial were painted and then glazed to make them shiny.

Here's the back. I love this fun paper. I used a marker to make the glasses into sunglasses.  Cool

That is absolutely precious! I love the little tweaked details here and there, and the whole mini-shadowbox feel of it. And it looks fabulous with her flamingo collection! Grin

I LOVE this!!! I also looked at the gallery and wow! What a fun swap! I have been thinking of using my tins this way lately, but never have.

There's not much in this world that can't be improved by either chocolate, bacon or glitter.

It's like you crawled up into Edel's brain and went a pickin'. That's just so awesome, I love all the details.

It's great, racky! I love the lush trim you have on the side of the tin.
