I know we have the Mini 12-Days of Christmas swap happening (I'm SO in for that one), but I was wondering if anyone might be willing to head up another Secret Santa swap (perhaps in a month or two)? I was in one a few years ago here on Craftster and it was hands-down my favorite swap ever because I just loved reading through everyone's wish-lists and being able to send little presents to a bunch of other crafters. Plus it's fun sending surprise gifts! I know it can be an intensive swap to manage and my life is insane so I'm not up for heading it but I would be a very enthusiastic participant.

I am pretty certain I won't have a swap slot available to join in, but I organized this Secret Santa Swap way back in 2012. If you were thinking something like this, someone could totally use this idea or a variation of it.

I was actually thinking of the wishlist model from 2017:
https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=453681.0

It's a hybrid of a wishlist swap and the idea of Secret Santa.

I would love to do another of these swaps.

It has been many years since I organized a swap and I've been reading about organizing a swap to refresh myself. I'd be willing to coorganize, but not sure I could organize it unless I had a good coorganizer. This swap was huge last year so would take commitment from both the organizer and coorganizer.

I've never organized (or co-organized for that matter) so this doesn't feel like the right swap to dive into in that regard, plus my life is often bananas. Hence my hope someone else can be persuaded to head up the swap. But I'll try to be a killer personal assistant and send cookies if someone experienced is willing to take the reigns. I am not above bribery, lol.

calluna hosted the last couple but I know she is very busy right now. Still... it's such a tempting swap. I mean, we had so much fun last year. And the year before Cheesy.

I might be persuaded to host... but I wouldn't feel safe committing until November at the earliest, and that's far away, and also things might change by then to make me not available... sooooooooo if no one steps up by November I might be able to?

November is when the last seasonal round was held, worked out pretty good. I am not sure I will be able to commit then either, I for sure can't right now. I will be an encouraging cheerleader in any case, I love this swap.

Thanks for pinging me, CLM!  Smiley I would so-o-o love to make this happen again! It is possible, though I have to first give it some thought and assess the coming months before confirming. I will get back with you all by the end of the month.   Grin

If I happen to fall off the face of the earth and someone else organizes, here's an important detail our swap mods requested in light of previous rounds: in addition to having a co-organizer, both that co-organizer and a swap mod need access to the list/spreadsheet of claims and the which code names go with which people and claims.

Ya, because it is a BEAST! Not only are there lots of people, they all have a code name so nobody knows who is who. The organizer had better know, and the co-org because can you imagine? OMG, the madness of that swap, lol.

It is so crazy. But such fun to be the ringmaster, haha. It uses a part of my brain I'm trying to use less, but I'll see how well I can keep improving on that in other ways.

I'd be over the moon if you ran the swap! Though preferably before November if possible because that is such a crazy busy month. I didn't realize this swap ran again in November last year and now I'm super sad I missed it! I'm not on craftster as often so miss things, alas.

I could probably organize if you can't.

All right, I am thoroughly excited to take on this swap again AND I'm committing to it!  Cheesy (Barring unforeseen emergencies, etc.)

I'll aim to open the swap right before Halloween, and keep accepting signups well into November. Don't quote me on this, since I'm open to adjustment, but I think the send-out deadline will be December 1st, to allow international packages a few weeks' travel time. Then, once all basic swap requirements have been met, the superhero-level crafters can have the option to send out bonus surprises beyond the deadline if desired. But not even craftylittlemonkey has to play craftylittlemonkey, craftylittlemonkey: you are still a great Secret Santa if you send to one person!  Wink

Thank you geekgirl for offering to host if needed!  Kiss I will definitely need a co-organizer as a backup, so if you're still interested when the swap opens please let me know. Everyone who has been a co-organizer for me before was fantastic, and I would be happy for any to volunteer again.
