Small Things Matter worked with the K and 1st graders at Lunch and Learn to make these quick and fun tile coasters.

We used oil based Sharpies to decorate 4" x 4" ceramic tiles.  We cleaned the tiles with alcohol to remove any grease to ensure proper adhesion of the paint to the tile.  After the kids decorated the tiles they were dried for 24 hours then baked at 350 degrees for 1 hour and left to cool.

Happy campers!

The kids had a blast!  I think we'll try making alcohol tiles with them next summer!

Thanks for looking!

How great!  I'll be sure to share this news with the camp directors and the kids.  They'll be so pleased!
