I made this for a competition, it's a 15C partlet, designed to be worn over quite low cut dresses for warmth (and possibly modesty) it was worn in a lot of countries in medieval Europe, but it's best documented in the Flemish region. It's made of linen and completely hand sewn.

Cartridge pleated ruff

Looks silly without the proper dress underneath. But this is how is worn

Lovely work! It's beautifully crisp and neat. You are clearly an expert hand-sewer! Good luck on the competition part. Smiley

Thank you, it didn't win unfortunately. But it gained points to another year long one. *Fingers crossed* !

Oh my goodness! That is amazingly neat and precise. I think my fingertips are getting a little sore just imagining all that hand sewing.

Aww, silly judges. Wink Hooray points, though. Plus, you get to wear it and look fantastic!

My poor finger joints when it was done!

Someone needs to slap me silly if I decide to hand sew something like that again
