This blanket was started in 2017 & then set aside until I started working on it again earlier this year. I'm so happy it's finally done!

Pattern: Carpenter Wheel in C2C (Ravelry link, though it appears to have been taken down while it's rewritten)
Yarn: 4,543 yards of Red Heart Super Saver in Grey Heather, White, Gold, Soft Navy, & Hunter Green
Hook: I (5.5 mm)

I did enjoy working on it - It was fun to adapt the pattern to suit my plans. Smiley

This was my initial plan:

My colors were selected based on sports teams: Michigan (blue/gold) vs Michigan State (green/white). It's a gift for a cousin - she & her husband support different teams. Grin

I used this C2C (corner to corner) tutorial: https://makeanddocrew.com/how-to-corner-to-corner-crochet-c2c-for-beginners/
And this C2C join as you go tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kareF-B7JYk

My blocks are 12 x 12 squares instead of the 11 x 11 the original pattern required (join as you go requires even number of squares so that square directions are correct).

Where I stopped in 2017:

Then when I picked it up again this year, I kept getting confused about where to switch colors, so I drew out my square layout on graph paper:

You are awesome. First just for finishing this beast, second, for making it, it's terrific. Great idea, beautifully stitched. I know how hard it is to part with something you've worked so hard on, and for so long. But I also know how much you sometimes never, ever want to see a craft again after working so hard for so long on it and I imagine that might be how you're feeling after all this time Cheesy. Great job!

I'm impressed! I haven't tried C2C yet, but I love how you can graph it out to make almost any image. It's pretty neat how you were able to rework the original pattern, too.

Thanks for the tutorial link... I might give it a try eventually!
