YAY I actually found some people from Ra-cha-cha.  Moving to Buffalo in January but I'll always be a rock girl at heart.  I'd love to get something started like a craft club or something.  Sounds cooel!

I'll have to stop by sometime at the craft night when I am in town visiting family.

So I had an idea for a kniting store that also has a cafe in it so knitters could congregate and meet others, while getting coffee/food, and also being right there to buy new books, magazines, needles, supplies, you name it.  I bring this up in this thread, because I was thinking if I ever really do open up my own store I'd like to do it in the Finger Lakes area since it doesn't seem like there's a whole bunch of knitting things there.  What do you think of that idea?  Is it stupid?  Would the western NY/Finger Lakes region benefit from something like this?  It's just a lovely pipe dream at this stage of the game.

Those with the accent call it RAAH-chester. Tongue
Yes, I speak with a dreaded rochester accent. It drives my mom nuts. I also say soda-pop.

Rochester here as well.  Smiley  Moved here from Orlando 1.5 years ago for the significant other.  Growing up, we didn't have a lot of money but had a sewing machine.  Back then I was sewing my own Barbie / doll clothes made from clothes that myself and my sister grew out of.  Now, I find it a sport to make things for low cost / free out of recycled or unwanted / used materials.  That's my kinda crafting!   Grin

I'm in Rochester, too. Is there still a craft night at Lux? Are there any local craft nights? Just curious.
