I don't need no instructions to know how to rock.

I recently completed a nine month training to be a yoga teacher, and wanted to do something for my cohort.  For some reason I thought making six quilts in a fairly short period of time would be a good idea.  Somehow I got them done in time for our final weekend, and really liked how they turned out.

I did the same pattern for all of them, so they would be cohesive.  Each quilt has a novelty print with at least two patterned fabrics.  I chose the half-square triangle blocks as a little bit of an inside joke that went with my final presentation for the training.

It's all just "straight" line quilting from top to bottom.  I didn't try to be careful with it.  I wanted it to be a bit wonky to match the wonky stitching on the blocks, and keep it all fun-seeming.

The backs and bindings are made from cotton bed sheets.

They are by no means show quilts.  It was rough going for some of them.  I was learning to use my high speed straight stitch machine at the same time, and it was often touch and go.  So many stitches were ripped.  Quilting and squaring were...an adventure.

As imperfect as they are, whichever one I was working on at the time became my favorite.  The photos really don't do them justice in terms of the colors and textures.

I had my mom's help with some of the cutting and ironing.  I did all of the sewing.  So Much Sewing.  She also helped me fold and tie them up.

I think everyone ended up liking the one they received, and I was glad to get them finished!

The came out so beautifully!  As I scrolled each one became my favorite too.  Cheesy  I love the blue floral deer print.  What a thoughtful and generous gift.  Namaste.

Congratulations on your yoga certification!

I love you chose non-primary colors and patterns across the board. Even though you used the same pattern, each is so unique! Excellent work!  The quilt with the little navy trees, or the owl pattern vie as personal front runners. Really great gifts!

I'll say "everyone ended up liking the one they received" indeed! What fabulous gifts, and so many of them. They are each wonderful but together as a group, absolutely impressive Shocked.
I do hope you're planning something for yourself as well? To commemorate your YTT (Congrats! My Robert is actually at the last day of his course today as well, how fun) and also in memory of that time you made 6 quilts at once!
