For the recent Art Doll swap, I had the pleasure of crafting for The Raging Sloth, and her questionnaire was a dream come true. I'm always looking for more opportunities to make weird moth dolls Smiley This distant relative of our buddy Rusty is called "Mushy the  Mothman". He likes taking long walks through the forest to gather mushrooms. In fact, he's spent so much time among them, that he too has started growing fungus.

Mushy's body is needle-felted on a wire armature and his wings are wet felted - I went with bat shaped wings instead of moth wings like most of my moth guys because Mothman the creature of legend specifically is a bit more batty Smiley. His legs are wire wrapped with jute twine. The shrooms scaling up his body are polymer clay. The ruff is also needle felted but with some nice curly mohair locks. The eyes are made from flat beads set in polymer clay. His necklace is a collection of stone beads. And finally, his satchel is felt with an embroidered mushroom filled with half needle felted, half felt mushrooms that have french knot spots. I had so much fun making him and I'm sure he and Rusty would get along swimmingly Cheesy

Also his lil' antenna ears can be posed, for a sense of alterness! (Or derpiness Grin)

This is utterly fantastic.  I love all the tiny details, from his heavily lidded eyes to the measuring tape handle on his mushroom gathering bag.  Beautifully done my friend.

My gosh, the talent that lives inside you is actually a little bit frightening. I am so glad you've got a medium to put into those wickedly crafty hands to keep you busy making amazing things. Wow.

You are so incredibly skilled with a tiny needle, colored roving, wire, and fabric bits. The moths are starting to create their own world. I love each one and can't wait to see what you dream up next!
