We had an epic day. Not one to do things by halves, I put my back out 4 days before the wedding, this was before the roof went up and before any decorations were done. So I called in some wonderful friends, took plenty of painkillers and this was the results.

A bit of context, in Ireland there is no time of the year when you can guarantee good weather, so you simply can't have an outdoor event without shelter. Two amazing friends of ours designed and built this roof. Just as well, because after a couple of weeks of glorious weather, it broke at the start of the wedding week and there were strong winds and lots of rain. The rain held off on the day, until about 7 pm, and fortunately there wasn't that much wind, but it rained steadily after that, so the proceedings were enlivened occasionally by people dumping rain pools off of the roof. But it actually didn't matter a bit, no-one cared, we all stayed dry. The hog roast was fabulous, there was a ton of alcohol and it was all just brilliant- we finally got to bed at 6 am and we up at 10 the next morning to take down the roof as there were high winds on the way.

and if you are one of the lovely people who have ever made me a quilt, it was pressed into service on Saturday.

On to the important stuff.. Photos

this was just a bit of hardboard, framed with some 2x1 and painted.
this is the garden without any roof.

And at night

We made about 300 of these coffee filter flowers.

A lot of paper lampshades!!

Paper flower arch and confetti box, with wildflowers decorative. I scrunch dyed 24 cloths for borrowed tables.

My bouquet. Simple hand tied one of peony's, wild flowers and some yew (some of the chemo i had last year was first synthesised from yew)

The biggest wedding dress in the world, with a red underskirt for fun.

And my lovely husband

Oh sweet lady, I am so, so happy for you!  Congratulations!  All my love to you, Brian, and Mollie.  xoxoxox

Happy is the bride that rain falls on
May your mornings bring joy and your evenings bring peace.
May your troubles grow few as your blessings increase.
May the saddest day of your future
Be no worse than the happiest day of your past.
May your hands be forever clasped in friendship
And your hearts joined forever in love.

Oh my goodness! What a beautiful and inviting celebration you had! What a beautiful bride in her big white dress! I got a little choked up looking through the photos (twice). I can't wait to meet you in August!

Congratulations Cheesy The tent and decorations is so lovely, and everything else. Glad that even though it rained at least the tent didn't blow away. Sorry your back didn't behave, but I'm glad you have great friends who could help out.

Hope you have many days of happiness with your husband Smiley
