So, Pam England has a book called "Laborinth of Birth" which is about creating a map of what you'd like childbirth and labor to be. It even stretches into the child's first year. You create it and use it to meditate over the birth and growth process. After a less than ideal first birth situation, with my second I was really anxious to find something that could help keep me centered and calm. So, I created a laborinth the best way I knew how- embroidery! I started with the maze and then added the other elements- the brambles around the outside were doodles my oldest son did and my husband drew some of the things as well (I wanted the whole family included)

I poured a lot of hopes and dreams into this and whether it helped or not, my second birth experience was much smoother.
