Oh geez... I'm a geezer now? When did that happen  Tongue

When I first read the swap description I was intimidated but I've been lurking out of curiosity and now that you've added a list of wants I think I could do at least one thing on there! lol  Cheesy

I know! How does that happen? Like, for real! I was commenting to dh a few days ago about how we are almost 40, and I was like whaaaa??? Did I just say that?!

I don't have time or a swap spot for this, but I'm sure the gallery will be epic. I'll have to be sure to check it out.

I haven't swapped this year yet, but there's a lot of things in the 'wants' column that sound intriguing. I've always wanted to make a tree skirt, and I've only made double sided placemats once before.

BBM, I understand the feeling. I'm getting closer to 70 than is comfortable but I swear I was only 50 a few years ago. And it really brings it home to me when 30 year olds are calling themselves geezers. That's young enough to be my grandchild.

None of us are geezers since we're all young at heart!  Smiley

I don't think of myself as a geezer, not that it's anything wrong with that. Sadly there is a lack of swaps, and the swaps that do get hosted are either something I'm not interested in or they are for something I can't do, so because this swap is open for anyone over 30 years old and within the craft area I can do I'm in Smiley

Honestly, when I have met various craftsterers who have participated in past round of this swap, I was surprised at how young they actually were! Even though I'd seen photos of rackycoo, for example, I still pictured her in my mind as the grandma in her avatar!

Kathy, you are the youngest near-70 woman I've met!  Kiss

I think the swap started when there were so many active members in their teens and 20s that the 30-somethings felt old.  Cheesy Now it seems like 30+ is more the norm on the site, as we all keep getting older and the young'uns are more drawn to Instagram and such than the forum format. (Call it "the Instagram" for bonus geezer points)

It's fun to put on the geezer identity like a silly bathrobe and make it a light hearted thing, to contrast the usually negative attitudes we see about aging.

I absolutely love this swap. I remember when I finally turned old enough to join- I was sooo excited! I am going to work on my questionnaire today.

I just hit "Post" on my last set of grades for the school year, so I'm leaning a little more towards signing up for this (I would so love a pair of knitted socks!). I definitely think I would need to sew something (there are a lot of items on the wish list that require sewing) because it's what I do the best.

I still have a few more school-related tasks to finish (end of year awards and the packing up of my classroom for the summer), but hopefully I can get that mostly finished tomorrow. Then, I can consider the questionnaire!
