inspired by all the beautiful fabric beads that have been made by craftylittlemonkey and the folks who attended the recent meetup at Asheville, NC, I decided to whip up a batch for my partner in the Happy Mail #5 swap Cheesy  It was so much fun sorting through the little scraps of fabrics and embellishing each one with stitches and seed beads.  Sadly, I still have a fairly large stash of fabric scraps after completing this project.  I reckon there will be more fabric beads in my future Cheesy

Oh! You did a fabulously wonderful job with these! I don't think it's too much to say that I love them and I love that you made them, woo hoo! I would so appreciate it if you'd share some of your process, tips and tricks. I have a lot of fun figuring out different ways to make them and I really like hearing how others are solutioning working on such tiny spaces too Smiley.

Thanks guys Smiley  It was really fun to make these!
My swap partner indicated that she likes bright bold colors, so that's what I went with.

craftylittlemonkey, here's the process I used:
I layered fabric scraps over felt bases (approximately 1" or so), making sure the fabric was bigger than the felt base.
Next, I tacked the layers down with random embroidery stitches.  I used either 2, 3, or the full 6 strands of embroidery floss, depending on the fabric print.  At this stage, they look like teeny tiny pieces of quilts with unfinished edges Cheesy
To make the beads, I tucked in the fabric overhang, folded each piece in half and ladder stitched the edge seam.  Of course, I then smooshed the pieces back to their cylindrical shapes Grin
Next, I added beading detail on some of the beads that needed some extra oomph & bling Wink
Lastly, I tucked in the last fabric overhang (top and bottom of beads) and stitched the edges in place.

Rather than repeating the process for each individual bead, I did them in batches Smiley
