The Iron Chef Hogwarts Secret Ingredient for July has been announced in the kitchens!

Oooohhhhh, somehow I missed this one Abbee!  I love making risotto, and I've been meaning to make it again soon.  Thanks for giving me the nudge I need!

Quidditch Don your colours (and something from my love to do list)
house-ravenclaw
project headbands, to stop me melting now that I have hair

quidditch warm ip

Ravenclaw

This was a very quick and easy bin for my daughter's car

Quidditch (lap around the pitch)and another item from my love to do list
Ravenclaw

This was me learning how to do Foundation paper piecing. It's quite absorbing, and when it comes together it's fun. By the time I had all these made, I had 'got' it. Mind you there was a fair bit of ripping seams along the way. And the over all shape of the stars fits an oval

Ravenclaw

This was a dress that i bought online and it looked awful. so i cut it up and made a wrap skirt

COMC

Ravenclaw
Project thread https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=458771.0

This was a hand sewn medieval partlet for a reenactors competition (didn't win, but I got a good score) it's essentially a short sleevless jacket that is designed to cover the chest and shoulders when worn with a low cut gown.

DADA

Ravenclaw

For the same competition, I painted this medieval style miniature, it's about 1.5 inches high and about an inch across. It was a new skill to me. I was copying an extant painting. Painted with the smallest paintbrush ever!

So there is a story about that brush. I was in London in an art shop and looking at tiny brushes. But decided that I had enough at home, so I put the brush back on the shelf. When I got home, I found the brush in my bag. Somehow I had missed the holder on the shelf, it bounced down and it fell into my bag, all without me realising-accidental shop lifting!

Edel- So productive! love the headbands (I still have the fabric you sent me with the bees on it like these. I'm looking at it right now, actually! It's smirking at me. "Like you're gonna get to me anytime soon? Bah. Just frame me and hang me in a place of prominence where I belong, servant of small human!") oh! and I have that same mirror!

As for me, I have a couple more charity blocks from stash to put up. Hopefully later today. I was laughing to myself earlier (sleep deprivation makes one a great self entertainer) about how my "love to do" list should have been things like "Take a shower," and "figure out where all this dirty laundry is coming from" haha.

Hoping to get to the yarn again today, it's good to have dreams!  Cheesy

Class/Challenge: Quidditch: Practice shots + SPEW
SPEW: WUA blanket square donations
House: Slytherin
Project Name & Page Link: n/a
Brief Description: These are easy-peasy 7x9 inch squares in garter stitch and one in sc. Things I have done many, many times before.  Frankly, although crochet was my first yarny love I am liking how the knit ones are working up much better so I switched back to the needles for the rest of them. Youll note that I included my previously submitted block so that it was certain that I had made 2- Dont want any accusations that my Slytherin is showing! haha! For this prompt Ill count the crochet one.
Also: Alphabet S is for SPEW (I can hear Hermione now Not SPEW, S.P.E.W.!)
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge: Herbology + SPEW
SPEW: WUA Blanket block donation
House: Slytherin
Project Name & Page Link:
Brief Description: This is for the purple block. (Prompt option 3.)
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge: Flying +SPEW
SPEW: WUA Blanket square donation
House: Slytherin
Project Name & Page Link:
Brief Description: This is for the cream and pastelly one. Those were leftover from the Florian Fortescue baby blanket I made several years ago.  The soft white is reminiscent of cumulus clouds on a summer day. I worked this up on the drive to NH for the 4th so: alphabet T for Travel
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge: Detention Stash + SPEW
SPEW: WUA Blanket square donation
House: Slytherin
Project Name & Page Link:
Brief Description: After suffering the discovery of mouse damage in some of my less well stored yarns I have made a resolution to use up all the remnant yarns that I can before Summers end. All the blocks above are made with stash, which makes me feel good that they will stop languishing in baskets and jars and go out into the world to do some good and seek their fortunes. This is for the second knit pink and brown one.
Alphabet: V is for Vice- my yarn hoarding issues are intervention worthy!

Happy crafting!

AntBee you are hilarious. And I know exactly what you mean about finding yourself hysterical when you're sleep deprived.

And did I ever tell you I had a real life Aunty Bee

So a broken big toe put me out of commission for a little while, but I'm limping out onto the field...

Class/Challenge: Quidditch Warm Up
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name & Page Link: ATC batch
Brief Description: I keep a set of ATC backgrounds made up and have a specific little drawer with appropriate sized embellishments for them, because they are the perfect "warm up", "I don't know what I want to make today", "everything else in my craft room is a disaster" craft.  No real theme, just getting back into the swing of things.
