Because Papier-Mache solves everything...

So my cousin-in-law (lol weird thing to call someone but that's what she is. We're buds) is having some AWFUL luck with her pets and her parents pets and it just makes me SO SAD. All her pets and parents pets died within a year then she recently got a new cat and it got out and got hit by a car and broke its leg. Sad I don't want anything else bad to happen to her pets. So sad. So I felt like they needed good thoughts and protection so I made a little intention dotee to keep her pets safe, healthy, and protected. I also used some of my coveted found feathers as I feel mother nature might also provide some help that way. The feathers (though hard to see the colors because they're mostly iridescent) are (from top to bottom) female mallard duck, blue jay, robin (? They're just gray...), wood pecker,  and black-capped chickadee (probably. Again, just gray so hard to tell) so it gets wings. Smiley NOT angel wings though.  Her pets are going to be JUST FINE from now on. I demand it.
I made the face from felt and added details in embroidery.  The fabric has a little dinky pattern of animals on it and I added some words of intention on there with muslin and embroidery. Then I added charms of a cat, horse, dog, and a paw print as the dotee tail. Hopefully this will give some much needed protection from whatever bad juju is causing these things to happen.

Thanks for looking!

This is incredibly lovely. The detached picot stitch as ears is a wonderful idea, I am going to remember that for future projects.
Would you please consider posting close ups of the face? The expression is so sweet, I would love to see more Smiley.
