At the recent Asheville Meetup, we had the good fortune to take workshops with some of our fellow Craftsters.  I taught a class in working with beading wire & crimp beads.  Since the technique is the same no matter what you choose to make with it, I had the folks who signed up choose whether to do a beaded bracelet, a sun catcher, or both for the nimble-fingered among us.

The first picture is from the end of the first class.  Clockwise from top (12:00 position) is my example rainbow sun catcher, I can't remember whose rainbow sun catcher, Rob's earth tones suncatcher, underthemountain's ocean sun catcher, Clara's (utm's mom) blue banded agate bracelet, sheepBlue's rainbow sun catcher, my rose quartz example bracelet, PerfectlyBohemian & LeepFeetFirst's blue, green, and purple sun catchers (sorry ladies, I can't tell them apart), and finally rhinoceroses' dragon vein agate bracelet on the wrist at the left.

A detail shot of my example sun catcher.  I wish I had thought to get shots of my example bracelets, but I gave them away after my workshop.  There's a yellow chaceldony and a rose quartz bracelet floating around in the world.   Wink  Friends, if you have pictures of the items you made, please share them below!!!

This last shot was taken just before class started, when we were all gathering after breakfast and the table was still neat!

It was so cool to get inside tips from the Master in this workshop. Wink

I will have to take pics of my projects to share...even though I forgot a bead in my bracelet! D'oh!

I'll try to remember to take a picture of the yellow chaceldony bracelet you made! It's so lovely Smiley I totally thought I knew how to make beaded things but I learned SO MUCH in your workshop and definitely am glad I decided to take it! Can't wait to hang my sun catcher. Thank you so so much for all the beautiful beads and crystals and other supplies Cheesy

I was teaching a workshop at the same time as Jennie but that didn't stop her from making up kits for a bracelet AND a sun catcher for me. You are a GEM, sister. I'll get on making these this weekend and will post pics asap.

The crystal Rob made is still lost in the giant pile of stash we brought home, lol. I'll find it and post pics of that too. You chose perfect colours for him Smiley.

Snuck into Lana's room while she was out to snap this...can't find my bracelet anywhere though...

Thank you Jennie for your wonderful class.  I learned so much about crimp covers and those u-shaped things that protects the wire.  Smiley

My suncatcher - crimp bead covers certainly give a more finished appearance but think I need an extra set of hands to deal with those tiny little dodads. Thanks for being my extra hands, Emma!

This was such a great class! Mine is on the wrist in the first pic Smiley I've been scheming to go buy beads to make more of these. Thank you again for making room for me last-minute!

Unfortunately my suncatcher fell on the floor as I was packing to leave Asheville, and the wire broke. I have all of the pieces and Jennie's amazing instructions, so I am confident that it can be rebuilt! Thanks again for a great class Jennie!!
