Now we're in Gumby; I'm gonna walk through a book.

Hello!  For Easter I made a carrot cake roll with cream cheese filling and tried out carrot roses/pineapple flowers for the first time.  I've been eyeing the roses/flowers for a while, and this was a good time to test them out.

I followed Bravetart's instructions for the carrot roses https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2017/10/carrot-rose-recipe.html and my dehydrator at 135 F for about 5 hours (flipping occasionally) for the sliced pineapple.  I used a fresh pineapple and my mandoline at about 6 mm to slice it.  You can find a million instructions for pineapple flowers online--most say that you can also dry them out in a super low oven for a few hours. When mine were dry to the touch but not crunchy, I put the slices in a muffin tin to cool so that they stayed in a flower shape.  Smiley

I used this recipe for the cake roll: https://www.crazyforcrust.com/carrot-cake-roll/

And this is my first attempt at decorating the cake.  It was a lot better after I got a good night's rest and decided to rearrange everything in the morning. Lol. Smiley

There's not much in this world that can't be improved by either chocolate, bacon or glitter.

This is absolutely beautiful! I love when the decorations on a cake are truly edible!
