Edit 3/10/19 - My partner posted a much better picture in the gallery - Yay

I probably shouldn't even be posting since the picture is so dark (you know that mad rush to mail on time with a quick photo even though the lighting is bad?) but here is the mug rug I made for the Mug and mug rug swap. I couldn't decide between braided batiks and some kind of peacock, so decided to have a go at both. Not really how I meant it to turn out - I was trying to nest detached lazy daisy stitches of different colors for they 'eyes' on the feathers and with each new color they became more elongated and less round.

Here's a progress picture showing a close up of the 'eyes'

You cannot give me too much work; to accumulate work has almost become a passion with me: my study is so full of it now, that there is hardly an inch of room for any more. I shall have to throw out a wing soon. (J.K.Jerome)

Oooh, beautiful! I've seen some of this in progress, and I love the finished mug rug. Also that it is square rather than oblong, and highlights the peacock.

Very beautiful, the feathers turned out so perfect. I like the pieced section too, the batiks are a nice accompaniment for the peacock, good choice there.
