This is a little bit of a bunch of things, so I guess I'm putting it here!  My child wanted a butterfly crown for her 6th birthday party (we got the butterfly themed package at our favorite nature center) and so I pulled out the freestanding butterfly & moth embroidery designs I figured I'd have a use for some day:

The butterflies are all glued to hair clips so they're removable (& moveable; this is not the final party configuration) and the crown is sewn together at the back with a wide zig-zag so that I can make it bigger if she still wants it once her head has grown some more.

Luna moth lace, w/ glow-in-the-dark webbing.  This one's female.  (small antennae)

Orange Sulphur (which is *not* the same colors on both sides of the wings, so there was a lot more switching the top thread than the bottom thread)

Tiger Swallowtail & Monarch (both female)

Lacy pink fantasy butterfly, Checkered White, & a good view of one of the flowers.

Better view of the front design, this time with the other Luna Moth (male, w/ poofy antennae)

And the Common Green Birdwing.

That is just spectacular, wow. Forget kid sized, I'd wear it if it fit my head!
