I love, love, LOVE post-themed things! So when I got this envelope box svg set as part of a larger set, I knew I had to make an airmail envelope. After much searching, i finally found cardstock in the classic blue/white/red stripe, ordered it up, and then waited as it traveled by ancient, arthritic tortoise to my mountain home. I decided to use it to hold a scrapbook/journal for a trip to Ireland we're planning for August.

I'll use ephemera I pick up along the way fill in the "from" and "to" on the front of the "envelope.

I used stamps and washi tape to add some details. I made the postage stamp using a die in my Sizzix, then fussy cutting and adding a little self-adhesive gem.

The back of the striped paper had these fun vintage carry-on airline bags!

Annnnnd now for the disassembled scrapbook/journal! I made front and back covers using the same striped paper, white cardstock, stamps, washi tape, and some fussy cut bits. They've been punched with my Bind-it-all machine, but I won't bind the book until I get back, so I can include other punched emphemera if I want to.

I've also cut, punched, and dated pages. Each day has it's own double-page spread, stamped with the date.

After cutting the pages to fit in the box when bound I had some leftover paper that matched one dimension of the pages, so went ahead and punched them to slip into a day's spread that might have just too much to fit on one spread.

I'll leave the box, covers, and wire at home to keep them nice. I'll put some glue, scissors, pens, and  few assorted crafting supplies into a ziplock with the pages with us!  Eeeeeeeeeee! I'm so excited already!

What fun!  How will you mount the four-leaf shamrock you're bound to find?

How cute.  I so need to bring my paper supplies and come play with you...your ideas are always so fun and creative!  What a fantastic way to document a wonderful vacation and to have it all ready prior to the trip.

[quote}Anyone else unable to use the Insert Quote feature?[/quote]

The Insert Quote feature isn't working for me either.  I've been going old school and cutting & pasting the remark that I am referencing above, then typing out the [ q u o t e ] and [ / q u o t e ].  It doesn't insert the original author's name and a timestamp, but then again these conversations aren't so detailed we are likely to get confused as to who said what.  Smiley

That is so detailed! It's going to be crazy amazing when it's completed, I can't wait to see what you collect for that book, fun!

insert quote has been broken for a while, I reported it to sweets so the powers that be are aware.

Thank you!

And thanks for the code tip, Mistress Jennie!

CLM: I noticed it a few days ago, but never got around to reporting... partly because I assumed someone else already had, so THANKS for that, too!
