Now we're in Gumby; I'm gonna walk through a book.

I tried my hand at a deco-roll this Valentine's day after having serious cake envy from following yuni_sweets Instagram. Mine is no where near as polished and beautiful as hers, but I followed her recipe, and it tastes good! ☺️  It's basically a jelly roll made in a mold rather than rolled.  Next time I'll do a smaller, repeating pattern instead of one big motif to get better at piping the designs and to minimize cracking.

Here are some progress shots:

Inside view-it's filled with sweetened whipped cream and chopped strawberries. The sponge cake was vanilla.

Thanks guys! The design is baked in-- it's a butter based batter that you pipe on the parchment then freeze, then smooth the egg-white based sponge over before baking. I used a coloring book page to follow the shapes. ☺️

I can't even imagine how you made such a thing. I would certainly be right there with Mr Cutie-pie ready to cut into it and snack away though Cheesy.
