I made this owl for Thanate in the Embroidery Hooplah swap. I was tempted by her "wild woods" theme and the fact that I recently saw an owl for the first time in-person in the woods I frequent and have since become fascinated by owls, so I thought I would do a sort of homage to the owl though this hooplah owl is a barred owl and the one at the park is a great horned owl. Smiley



The feathers are stumpwork/3D. I'm pretty happy with my work on this though I'm still not super happy with the colors of the eyes.  I yanked the iris colors out multiple times until I was semi-ok with them. Lol.

You really did such a fantastic job with this. The composition & execution are equally superb. I love the owl, those feathers are amazeballs! And the eyes are terrific, I really like the unusual colours & different positions of the irises. Incredible work.

Spectacular job, especially on the 3D stumpwork feathers!  The eyes in the trees are a neat and spooky touch too.
