I made this owl for Thanate in the Embroidery Hooplah swap. I was tempted by her "wild woods" theme and the fact that I recently saw an owl for the first time in-person in the woods I frequent and have since become fascinated by owls, so I thought I would do a sort of homage to the owl though this hooplah owl is a barred owl and the one at the park is a great horned owl. Smiley

The feathers are stumpwork/3D. I'm pretty happy with my work on this though I'm still not super happy with the colors of the eyes.  I yanked the iris colors out multiple times until I was semi-ok with them. Lol.

Thanks for checking it out!

You really did such a fantastic job with this. The composition & execution are equally superb. I love the owl, those feathers are amazeballs! And the eyes are terrific, I really like the unusual colours & different positions of the irises. Incredible work.

This rocks!  The feathers are fantastic.  The eyes are great, I'm not sure why you weren't pleased with them.

Spectacular job, especially on the 3D stumpwork feathers!  The eyes in the trees are a neat and spooky touch too.
