I got a Sizzix Big Shot for xmas and purchased a few dies and such with a cash gift so I could get started playing. Among the dies were a nested set of rectangles with edges that look a bit like postage stamps and a set of various tags.

First I made a ton of faux postage stamps in a few sizes using paper stash.

Then I turned them into tags using tag I already had made using a punch I have or other embellishments from cuts I had on hand.

Then I used some to embellish card blanks or made tags using my new dies. Some these tags went onto card blanks, too, and then for a few I made coordinating fabric gift bags. Some went back into stash in the form of embellishments to use at a later date.

Most of the cards will be for thank you notes, but a few struck me as just-right for some friends' birthdays, so we'll see.

Thanks, pals!

Nice collection! Love those black and white papers.

Me, too! They were all in a set of Halloween card blanks from Michael's a few years ago. The only drawback is that this square shape costs a little more to mail. WORTH IT!

What a great set of cards and tags! I really like the stamp-y ones. And now, I really want to sit down with my die cut machines (I have the original Sizzix, the Big Shot, and a Silhouette) and play around. But, it'll have to wait just a bit until my craft room is a bit more organized (I have a box of paper ephemera just waiting to be attacked!). Fantastic idea to pair some with gift bags, too!

How lucky to receive the Sizzix for Christmas! And, I must say, I LOVE the postage stamp lookalikes you made!
