I didn't have time to make a lot of my Christmas gifts this year, but I was able to crank out a bunch of microwave bowl cozies using this pattern. The best part of the pattern was the tip to create a template to mark the pieces for the darts. It made the whole process go so much faster.

First, I stitched up a batch for my co-workers. I had cut 4 of them out some time ago, but needed a fifth for the male co-worker on the team.

Then, I stitched up 3 more in the school colors of my friends' kids: Northeastern University (red & black), NC State (red & white), and Westford Academy (maroon & grey).

I made 8 all together, and I might make 1 or 2 more this weekend!

I love all of these and this may be a dumb question but are they reversible?

I have made these and they make the best gifts. I gave some out to coworkers this year too. So useful. I like the fabrics you chose and how personal the choices were for the ones for your friends.  Smiley

What a great gift!  And a good way to stash bust.  Going to have to add these to my list for Christmas next year.  My MIL would love them.  Cheesy

Thanks, everyone! One of my coworkers has been using hers, and made me realize that I never told them that they could be put in the microwave! Oops!

And, bethntim, they are reversible! My mom likes to make them as well and she uses a different bobbin thread to match the bottom fabric, but I dont mind if one side has a contrasting thread color. Smiley

I do like picking out the fabric combos! The school colors were especially fun! And, Mistress Jennie, youre right about stash-busting! I might even attempt one that is made of pieced squares (I have some sports fabric to use up).

I reckon that having a set of these in different sizes must be really handy for stuff that goes in and out of the oven! I can't even count the number of times I thought I might be able to handle a hot plate or hot bowl but I WAS WRONG. Anyway, thanks for sharing the patterns with us. I might just go and see if I can get someone to help me out with making these in a couple of different sizes for my kitchen this week!

I havent made any larger sized ones, yet, but I can definitely use them! I have some larger bowls that I use regularly that dont fit in the ones made with a 10 square. I guess Ill add them to my to do list!
