I am doing a tea towel swap on FB with a few friends. The theme for this towel is food. I couldn't resist stitching up this vintage pattern. That apple is so happy to be eaten!  Cheesy I tinted the apple and the cherries with crayons.

There's not much in this world that can't be improved by either chocolate, bacon or glitter.

That is so ding-danged cute!

Question: does the crayon tinting "hold" if the piece is laundered?  I've used the technique, but never on anything that's meant to be used and washed.

I usually wash them in cold water and just throw them in the dryer with the rest of my stuff. In all the years I have done it, I've never had any problem. I don't do a heavy tint, just enough to add color. What is nice is with each wash, the color sinks in more. I have vintage pieces that still hold their color. For a test, you could wash and dry it by itself. No stitching, just the crayon tint. I also wash it in cold so the floss doesn't run or fade.

I love these little fruity designs, they are so charming. The tinting is great.
