Oh my goodness, what fun was had! We collected giraffe items, many of them sent to me from you gals here, and wrapped up 70 numbered boxes for mom to open at her surprise party, hahaha, it was GREAT! Just look at the actual giraffe we built out of some of the boxes.

Friends came over to help print giraffe patterned wrapping paper when none could be found for sale anywhere.

I couldn't find sticky-backed foam sheets so we used double sided tape and some sheet cork that was cut up into blobby shapes and stuck to the bottom of the largest flat-bottomed pan in the house. It nearly ruined that pan, so hard getting the sticky off afterwards. And there was paint all over the kitchen by the time we'd printed 2 rolls of the stuff, oh boy.

I found gold coloured table cloth, plates, napkins, cutlery, giraffe dessert forks, giraffe patterned straws, gold, brown and tan streamers, ribbons and balloons as well as giraffe patterned balloons, and made a giraffe themed card for everybody who came to give to her. My daughter made the cake topper.

It took nearly 2 hours for her to open all the boxes, it was HYSTERICAL! Everything from a giraffe toilet brush and toilet paper (YES! Really!) to slippers, a scarf, so many decorations, rings, etc etc. Everybody was laughing their brains out all night.
Here's all the loot collected on the dining room table the next day.

So many of you generously sent gifts for my mama, I can't tell you how much she appreciated it every single time she opened something and I said "Oh, that was handmade by so-and-so in my online crafting group". She felt SO special, thank you all very, very much for participating in such a fun day. You are all amazing.

It was so worth all the months of planning & collecting. Of course, mom lives in Florida during winter so the giraffes will stay at my place until summer, lol. So funny.

How fun! What a wonderful idea. All the giraffe things are so fun! Although I do find that mask a bit creepy...

Ugh, it's like Thanos, ok?  the long E is the feminine ending.  (Also, I prefer *not* to destroy the universe when possible.)
Thann-uh-tay, no "nate".

How fun, I'm so glad your mom had such an explosion of giraffe!

Just so credit doesn't go where it's not due, I didn't actually make anything; I sent the dapper red-background giraffe but the talented fluffypants is the artist!  Smiley (And I didn't send it because I don't love it, it was just too perfect to NOT be at the party!)

Does your household accumulate lots of dryer lint and empty toilet paper rolls? If you'll turn them into fire-starters for me, (stuff lots of lint inside the roll, fold edges, maybe add some candle wax), I'll happily send you something nice.

fluffypants, you can't imagine how many compliments your illustration got! It's getting framed & hung up. Thank you Smiley.
