Our nieces (ages 13 and will-be-12-at Christmas) always draw their Thank You and other notecards to us and I assume everyone else, too. So I put together some simple Make-a-Card Kits for them for Christmas gifts to go with the inevitable gift cards - I'm a little sad that we're entering the gift card years. Sniff.

The only photo I got was sort of poorly lit, but I finished well after dark last evening and was eager to get things all wrapped up, because these were my last packages to go into the box to ship off for the holidays! So I didn't get pics of the kits, but they included: a 25-pack of blank cards/envelopes, erasable colored pencils (their favored method of decorating), a good eraser, postage stamps, and a sheet of return address labels I made and printed up).

What a sweet idea! If they already draw their cards, then this will 100% be right up their alley!

I exchange gifts with my college friends and their 3 kids (2 are in college, one is a HS junior), and they're past the age where I can make them cute little things, so it's often gift cards (because I'm not paying $50 for a sweater with a store brand plastered across the front). One year, I had custom made stamp sets created for them so they could use them on various things (they were crafty as kids), but I didn't think to give them blank cards to go with them. Wish I had!

Thank you!

I'm lucky that they like crafty things, but they are getting to an age where their tastes are more "sophisticated" and their abilities more advanced, but they don't really have other craft adults around to maybe help or teach, so I may be ending the Era of Crafty Gifts.  Cry

We are close to the money and gift card age too, so sad. These are cute.

That's a really nice idea and not only for the children.
