A couple years ago, I ordered a 3D-printed doll kit and made a custom elf-on-the-shelf. Unfortunately, she began to break around the joints and we needed a replacement for our injured elf.

I chose a Monster High doll for her durability. Draculara is perfect because she has elfin ears. Though, it's not like you can see them under all that hair.  Cheesy

She got the full treatment - repaint, reroot, custom clothes. Took forever.

Her face is done in watercolor pencils and chalk pastels. Her hair is handspun Noro. I got the pattern for her dress from DGRequiem on Etsy. I did accidentally cut only half the skirt for her dress...that's why it's a pencil skirt instead of a cupcake shape. Oops, happy accident.

In process:

Hair:

To get the shape of the shoes right, I added a bit of hot glue to her toes and then made a tape pattern:

Thanks for looking!

Beautiful customized doll, especially the new face-up and lush, vibrant green hair!  The shoes are great too; adding hot glue to the tips of her feet, to get the shape you wanted for the pattern, was a clever idea.

Thank you, everyone, for all of the kind words! My kiddos love her and are so excited to have her here.

Beautiful customized doll, especially the new face-up and lush, vibrant green hair!  The shoes are great too; adding hot glue to the tips of her feet, to get the shape you wanted for the pattern, was a clever idea.

After several unsuccessful attempts to make a mold from her foot so I could make a polymer clay replica, I just reached for the glue gun. I swear, that is the most useful tool I own.  Cheesy
