This year marks the first (hopefully annual) advent calendar exchange between ChameleonHound and I! She came up with the idea to bring us some holiday cheer and I had so much fun finding and crafting little goodies for each day. I sent it at the last minute, so I'm crossing my fingers that it's delivered tomorrow and she can start!

Each thing is sewn up in a double layer of book pages (sourced from a crumbling Shakespeare anthology) - CH and I are book worms and have a history of crafting with old pages. The little packets are very satisfying to rip open.  Cheesy

Ribbons are sewn in to the packets and then tied to an embroidery hoop. I tied them all around the outside hoop, then put in the inner hoop and tightened. This keeps them relatively in place since I put heavier items towards the bottom. And then the hoop itself can be reused - bonus!

The overall effect is kind of wreath-like, which I didn't envision at first but I really like it! I hope CH enjoys it as much as I did. Happy holidays to the best bestie!

I love it! What a sweet idea for somebody far away. I think we should make such a thing for my sister and nephew next year, that would be amazing.

As a bookworm, I'm thrilled to see book pages used.  This entire project is wonderful and so creative.

That is awesome and I can only imagine the anticipation that will go along with tearing open each packet (I would find the temptation to cheat and tear them all open in one day almost irresistible) along with the joy of discovering each new treasure!
