This last patchy journal I'm posting is actually the first one that I made. Rather than a hard card cover, it is fabric stiffened with interfacing. Firm but still pliant. And, like the other patchwork pieces I've made recently, it is full of stories. Projects, fabric sent to me from people here, snippets of life rescued from the scrap bin and given new purpose.

I started with the fabric beads.

Those are stitched to the ends of ribbon bookmarks which are hand sewn between the signatures.

You can see the different colours of thread used for the bookmarks on the spine of the book.

I think they make the whole thing special.

Made for calluna in the IYP swap. I hope she will record some of her travel adventures within.

Whatever the question, the answer is always CRAFTING! It's the fix for all the sicks. Makes me feel better every time.

and remember, ALWAYS USE THE GOOD BEADS, YARN, FABRIC!

Love you all, thank you so much for everything. XO

Thank you Smiley.

I am very glad you like it calluna. I hoped it would be a good travel companion, soft & easy to throw in a bag. Pre-wrinkled too Cheesy.
