My daughter and I had the pleasure of attending the World of Thread exhibit in Oakville, Ontario with Wulf and his partner today. I wish I could have gotten photos of everything there but it was just a ton of stuff. I mean, wow. Who knew artists all over the world were making such amazing things? I am so happy we got to see the show. It was really something.

This one is entitled "One Year Of Stitch" and I can just imagine that's how long it took, These hoops were not small, 14".
By Donna Funnell, I think this is her flickr but I can't be sure. I am also not sure that these 2 hoops were even part of the official show. There is a fiber arts studio in the community centre where the event was held and I think these might have been their *every day display*. You could knock me over with a feather, I swear.

A detail shot. Every bit of this was playful and amazing.

This piece by Jacqueline Harris is acceptionally fine. I really love the circles and the stitches.

Now this was absolutely, without a doubt, part of the exhibit. The artist blew my mind. Each frame is quite large and there were a lot of them. A few had paint included but most were all stitches. Victoria Potrovitza

Look at the row of them! That is an unimaginable amount of hours siting with needle and thread in hand.

The Funnell piece is certainly detailed, but the Jacqueline Harris is just stunning. I absolutely love it. The colors, and the rhythms. And it has your circles! The fabric sunsets, but the thread is not variegated, it's actual thread changes.

Me oh my. Me likely!

Thank you for sharing all of these!

That's my favourite too! I knew, I just knew you would like it JC.

I hope everybody in the hoopla thread comes over to check these ones out, I am totes stunned by the sheer size of the hoops, 14inches, what?! My last one was like 4", haha. And I was so proud Tongue.

I did a 12" for the filled stitchy swap and would do it again! I really loved just running my hand over the stitches. But it took almost 4 weeks to get to my very patient partner.  (Like mine to you, now!)

I am going to make a circle one. Similar to this. It's too good not to!
