Asked a few friends round to do a little crafting on Saturdays while kids are off at activities. I am not much of a paper crafter so starting out with ATC's might seem like a funny choice for the first session but I figure everybody learned how to use scissors and paste in primary school so this would feel like old hat.
We made a terrible mess, it was awesome  Cheesy.

First we each made a Master Board, then turned them over and marked off the correct size for ATC's and cut without worrying about where the lines would fall. I have to say, at first my friends did not want to cut their collages. Not until they saw how mine turned out such interesting little pieces of art, then 2 of them wanted to try it. One cut ATC sized, the other cut to showcase the features of her work, the last did not want to cut at all and kept her collage intact as a sort of reflection of where she is in life at this moment. Everybody ended up with completely different and interesting projects, I just LOVED IT!

Here is the one I made and the cut up cards.

I am keeping my finished ATC secret until I have the appropriate partner in the ATC swap.

A finished card from my collage:

Here is another Master Board, cut up, worked on some more, and my fave card that I got to keep.

The collage that stayed intact.

These got cut up before I managed to snap a photo but here they are in order of appearance and after some more adding to.

And my fave card I got to keep. This has a bit of painted book page from a swap with belladune.

Then baby girl came home and wanted to make some, here are her creations. I think she is so fabulously talented, my small daughter.

That's what my table looks like too when I attempt to paper craft. I like the collage then cut up idea. Genius!

Thanks! It was so great and I keep thinking up future projects. Dotee/spirit dolls. Poetry spools. Mini books. Scrappy fiber projects like snails & beads. Weaving. Mojo bags. Fiber collage. Adult merit badges, felt twinchies, holiday ornaments, beaded crystal sun catchers... I could go on & on with more ideas than there are Saturdays, lol. Can you tell how excited I am? Cheesy

Well Onyxnox this weekend was only our second get together but so far we are all loving it and the stuff that's getting made is really awesome. I hope it will continue. I'm compiling these projects as part of a portfolio for future therapeutic art classes I'd like to run. Here's what we did today.

This is so great. I have quite a bit of paper work to do in the next few days. I've been spending the last few doing precise hand sewing. So a bit of creative new is called for.

I think I'll have a go at these

Do it! I've used pieces for ATC backgrounds, to make book marks & card fronts. Even the smallest little scraps look so interesting. I just pieced a bunch together yesterday & cut out hearts, they look great!

Those look really good! I've never tried the collage technique but it's got my interests going. It would be tough on what to keep and what to share lol. Glad you all had a nice time.

I've taken more recent collages to the print shop & photocopied them so I had more to work with. The originals can be kept in a flat file & copied again, or just admired forever Cheesy.
