Hi all!

Just wanted to share some pics of our recent crafting event.  Small Things Matter hosted a fleece scarves for the homeless on October 24 and 25 in honor of Community Service Week.  We were joined by volunteers from Difference Makers, Montgomery County volunteers, and 80 preK and preschoolers from a local preschool.  I was proud of Lana and the other STMers that stepped up to lead this crafting event.

We crafted for 3 hours each day and ended up with 167 scarves that were donated to 3 shelters.

The preschoolers made 40 of those scarves with pairs working together to make a single scarf.  ADORABLE!

Gratuitous shot of Lana and her friend Jamie!

It was great fun meeting new people and spreading some love!  Hope to do this again for MLK Day of Service!

Take care!

Thank you ladies.  It was such great fun.  Crafting with others for others is such an uplifting experience.  Smiley

I have other fantastic news to share.  There is a group that knits/crochets for a large hospital here and they are giving part of their extras to us.  We are going to be sharing them with our food distribution families starting this Sunday. (We couldn't share the scarves we made here because the grant I received was specifically to aid the homeless.)  Anyhow I am so thrilled that we'll be able to give them something to keep them warm!!!  We are also busy trying to get toys for the children during the holidays.  Smiley
