I received an absolutely gorgeous deer diorama ornament from Onyxnox yesterday. The photo doesn't do it justice. I'd love to see it's own post on how you made it.  Thank you so much Bonnie.

Thank goodness it made it there safely.  I went with bubble envelopes and was getting ready to make more of these in case they broke on the way!

I will post some projects soon, including these ones, just have been lazy about it.  But awhile back, I did post how to make these - I am sure I posted on Craftster - maybe last Christmas or the one before.  But I do have a blog post on it -

here we go - https://onyxnox.blogspot.com/2017/08/ornament-diorama-tutorial.html

I made some minor changes for your ornament - for one, I framed the edge with a layer of SnowTex and then pressed it into microbeads.  I embedded the ribbon into the hole for the ornament holder, using a large glob of hot glue to hold it in, then covered it in SnowTex and Glitter Snow, and I used glitter on the inside, rather than crackle medium.  Just paint the inside with a nice generous layer of Mod Podge, pour glitter in there, and then pour the excess out - you can leave it in there until the glue dries to let as much of the glitter attach as possible.  Let dry well before adding the inside elements.

Two of my ornaments arrived:

Onyxnox sent me the turquoise outer color that just happens to be my favorite color and she cost me some bucks lol.  Ya see my mom just turned 90 in August, still lives alone in my childhood home and I always put up her Christmas tree during Thanksgiving break.  She said last year she wanted new ornaments so I went and bought all the supplies on Saturday. Had to order the balls online though.  Her favorite color is greens so my plans are to do the outside in a Victorian green.  Thank you so much!

Gigglygirl white bear arrived:  so well made and so darn cute. Thank you so much!

I need to go back to taking photos with my camera because these by my phone stink!

Oh, those are just gorgeous ornaments.

The bear is so beautiful!

And I just love the deer ornament that Onyx made.  Just lovely.

I am so glad they are making it safely!

Check out the dollar stores - I found some really cool miniatures there recently that I am going to use to make some more ornaments too.  Also, you can decoupage the ornament rather than painting too - probably a good way to use gift wrap, sheet music, decorative napkins, tissue paper, etc.

Or do some neat effects like drip paint, marbling, etc

I did see on instagram today decoupaged ornaments like you are suggesting. I think that could be fun.

I, too, am glad your ornaments are making it safely.

I sent to all my green partners today. The other two when they become green, or next week at the earliest.
