I've really been enjoying the making of books lately and have explored lots of techniques and materials. There are many wonderful tutorials online and the library has been able to order in quite a few books for me to read. I am still very much a novice but I have a feeling this is going to be a craft I do forever, it's fast becoming a fave.

This one is made of cereal boxes, brown paper bags, cheesecloth, fabric scored from a yard sale this summer, ribbon, lace, rickrack, cork, buttons, and a hair elastic for the closure.

3 signatures for 18 pages.

I didn't construct this book "properly", though I had the elements right the sequence was off and some extra steps and layers were required to secure things.

The pages are machine sewn through the lace trim rather than in the spine crease.

In trying to use as much of the paper bags as possible I end up with lots of different sizes.

Covers are cut from whatever hard cardboard I can find. Painters tape was used to hold the spine and covers in place, it the end it doesn't add anything structurally, it's just what was handy.

I would love to hear about your book making adventures Smiley.
