I gave the Halloween Chunky House swap a try this year, and here I go papercrafting with my embroidery machine again.  Each house is made of two decorated sheets of cardstock glued to opposite sides of a piece of cereal box, except for the last one where I used corregated cardboard for a more industrial look.

House 1 (for SoniaBoo)

Front: embroidery on mulberry paper scraps w/ watercolor pencil background

Back: embroidery on felt, sewn to the cardstock

House 2 (for mandykaye)

...which sort of fails to have a house on it. Fabrics sewn down, paper (base of table & pumpkin) glued, and the tree w/ bats was actually cobbled together from two different embroidery designs on the fly.

back: more embroidered fabric sewn down

House 3 (for irid3sc3nt)

The purple doesn't show up quite as well as I'd like, but that gives it a sort of ghostly look, right?  Both sides of this had enough fabric in the main design to wrap & sew around the edges of the cardstock.

Back- I tried "signing" this one with the embroidery machine, and this is the smallest it will do lettering.  I probably won't do that again.

And my favorite: cmarion3 said in her questionnaire that she'd love haunted whatever else instead of houses, & I kind of ran with that...

Except for a wandering dinosaur, Full Moon Labs looks fairly quiet from the street...

But there's a lot going on inside!  (ghost, beaker, & one of the fluids in the distillation array are all with glow-in-the-dark thread)  Also much love for the random mad science sticker set I got for my daughter last year.

Ugh, it's like Thanos, ok?  the long E is the feminine ending.  (Also, I prefer *not* to destroy the universe when possible.)
Thann-uh-tay, no "nate".
