I found this gem at a tagsale two years ago for a whopping fifty cents. A lucky find since they go for no less than fifteen dollars on the net.

I did a total coat of white. It took several layers and I finally had to break down and buy that paint that hides every stain and bit of paint imaginable.  It stunk so I had to do it outdoors and let it dry. But so many bugs were hovering around , not to mention falling leaves, so I erected a folding card table over it and thought I was oh so clever.

Here is the sketch in pencil I drew on it before the art painting began....

Detailed shot of Snowy, racing alongside the bus

I used the core characters but had more room on the bus so had to find some great looking faces from various books.

Those two bumbling idiots Thompson and Thomson, who cannot even mount the steps of a bus properly...

I used a black pen which said waterproof on it as all outlines. Then when acrylic paint time came, which of course has water in it, what do you suppose that professional pen did?!?  I was so ticked off as it ran all over the place. So after painting, I had to redo all of the black outlines.

Added a couple of coats of clear acrylic at the end and gave it to Acadian Driftwood last night for her birthday.

thanks for looking!!

What a fun remake! And what a trail of trials you had to get there!

Oh, I had to look and look and look to figure out what was going on there. It is a PUZZLE! LOL, it makes perfect sense now I see it. Wonderful job! Really fantastic rendering of the characters and funny, so funny too. Bet she just loved it.

Nice transformation!  I'm only vaguely familiar with Tin Tin, but I recognize the main characters.

I've had some bad ink running when paint was applied catastrophes over the years too, so, I can sympathize with that!  Sometimes the effect is kind of neat and usable, but typically not.

I adore how this came out and all the details you put in! One of my favorite ones is how Haddock's curses are coming right out the windshield! Cheesy
