Hiya!
So the wonderful craftylittlemonkey sent me some amazing bookmarks for our nonprofit that gives out books to underserved kids.  She introduced me to fabric paper.  You can see her post here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=455699.0

Anyhow I have a wonderful bunch of Difference Makers Teen Ambassadors that I get to teach to craft and as part of their day of service (12 hours together) in August they made some amazing fabric paper.  I found a simple tutorial that we tried.  Our are not as fancy as CLM's but they were fun to make!!

Here are my Ambassadors getting into it!

They worked in little teams and ended up with these! top left and bottom right were made with colored tissues, top right with Chinese joss paper, and bottom left with newspaper

All cut up.  We made 144 bookmarks from 1 yard of muslin, glue, paper, acyrlic paint!

Here's what we did:
1. get cheap muslin and place it on a plastic sheet
2. wet entire cloth with diluted glue (1 part glue: 2 parts water)
3. add tissue, or any paper, even newspaper and paint over with glue
4. splatter and add designs with paint (used cups, pieces of wood, bubble wrap) anything goes
5. let dry
6. cut into bookmarks

Thank you CLM for introducing me to a world of wonder!  We'll be doing this again!

Oh, these are so fantabulous! I am in love with the beautiful art created here, wow and Wow and WOW! I cannot take credit for the idea since I was in fact inspired by not one but two projects here but I am so very pleased the bookmarks I sent sparked this awesome sharing activity. Those kids are AMAZING! I am really impressed.

There's not much in this world that can't be improved by either chocolate, bacon or glitter.

Thanks CLM and Mistress T!

I am sooo proud of them.  These kids don't do much art so it is really fun for me to see them cut loose and enjoy doing this type of art.  We're going to be making easy fleece scarves for the homeless soon!

CLM, you totally inspired all of this.  Smiley

MistressT, thank you as always for your enthusiasm and love!
