Swap name: Artist Trading Coins - Round 1

GALLERY

Craftster member who is organizing this swap: geekgirl1000100
Sign-up date range: Sept 6 - Sept 16 at noon Eastern time
Date to send item by: October 10

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): no

Restricted to people who all live in the same country? no
If so, which country?

Additional Age requirement? Must be 16 years old or older.
*Tracking #s are not required since these will be flat and possibly mailed for a single 1 or 2 ounce stamp, but you will have to resend if the card is not received*
* You can opt out of any International shipping but I would like to encourage people not to, an International stamp from the US is only $1.15.  This would be a good cheap swap to send internationally if you don't normally.

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES
- Is at least 18 years old: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES
- Participant has agreed that he/she is at least 16 years old: YES
- If within the US, understands that a Tracking number is required for this swap: YES
- If outside the US, understands that a mailing receipt copy is required for this swap: YES

Details of swap:

What is an ATCoin?  It's like an ATC but instead of a 2.5"x3" rectangle, you work on a 2.5" circle.
If you don't have a 2.5" punch and want to buy blanks that are pre-cut, I found at least one etsy shop that sells them:

Examples of ATCoins:

https://www.joggles.com/blog/getting-creative-with-artist-trading-coins/

You can also check out youtube and pinterest.

You will:
* make 3 ATCoins for your partner using the themes they list on their questionnaire
* choose 1, 2, or 3 partners
* use sturdy backgrounds. ATCoin backgrounds, like ATCs should be fairly sturdy. For example, printer paper would not be a good background, but cardstock or light cardboard is.

Please Note:
1. PMs should be labeled "Artist Trading Coins" with the appropriate action - Signup, send, receive.
2. Make ATCoins that you would like to receive. Do your best work.
3. I reserve the right to refuse anyone who has a history of poor communication, late sending, or not meeting swap requirements in any other ways.
4. Please post in the thread regularly so we know you're still around; also please communicate upfront with your partner and organizer if there may be/are any issues with late sending. Communication will be noted in feedback.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap: ATCoins
Craftster username:
Email address:
Your real name:
Mailing address including the country:
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country? (if your ATCoins are flat without raise embellishments, an internation stamp from the Us is only $1.15!)
Confirm that are at least 16 years old: (YES/NO)

Any allergens in your home?
Do you have any allergies?

Do you want 1, 2, or 3 partners?
What are your favorite colors?
Any colors/themes/mediums that you absolutely dislike?

Please list 10 themes, fandoms, general ideas of ATCoins you'd like to receive.  10 is a lot but it's nice to give your partner options!
If you are new to ATCs or ATCoins and need ideas, you could check out the monthly ATC swap and see what people list as themes.  you can be very specific ("cats walking on tightropes" or very generic ("woodland animals").

Okay. I'm going to work on my Q.

I like the idea one person suggested of doing a bunting. Then I can see all the little works of art together!

I want to join this one, but I'm afraid that I won't be able to create something from my partner's list. What if I can't make anything from the up to 10 items they list? Can they be loosely based on the themes if we can't specifically make something perfect for their themes?

I am sure loosely based will be fine. It's like ATC's.  Grin   I joined. I need to get a punch now. I am thinking a bunting would be cute too.

Bunting sounds like a good idea - maybe put that on your questionnaire so that your partners can keep hole placement in mind!

kwality, I'm sure you would be fine and loosely based is good.  Also quite a few people will put "artist choice" for a theme so then it would be wide open. Some people might have some very specific themes and then also include generic, broad themes.

Here is a compiled list of themes already submitted if it gives you any ideas. most of these are pretty open to interprestation IMO!

Animals: Cats, peacocks, Yetis, butterflies, birds
Holiday: Cutesy Christmas, Snowmen
Sayings: Happy Quotes, Quotes and words about art, creating, positive/motivation
Sewing motif
Anything happy and/or cute
Fandoms: Disney, Harry Potter, Bobs Burgers, Ghostbusters
artist choice
Leo (zodiac sign)
Mystery novels
Cities: London, Paris, Amsterdam, San Francisco and California
Food: Candy, chocolate, coffee/tea/wine, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Bread and cheese, herbs /spices
Books, book stores, libraries, and reading
science fiction / fantasy - specific shows like Doctor Who, Discworld, or general fantasy like dragons or fairies
Nature: flowers, trees
Something using recycled materials like used stamps or UPC codes
Fairy Tales
