My nieceís first birthday is fast approaching and I wanted to make her a present which will (hopefully) last her many years to come- and one which she can interact with quite a bit. Each page of the book is correlated with a letter of her name, MILLIE- and features some of my favourite things, so we can learn about them together. Everything is hand sewn, since many of the pieces were too small for my finicky sewing machine- being a perfectionist, the binding does bug me a bit- but, alas...

It took a minimum of 3 hours on each page- closer to 5-6 for some (I think Iíve managed to get through 2 seasons of The Vampire Diaries over the course of the last two weeks).

Cover

Mail (I was inspired by this particular page by a page I saw floating around on Pinterest). The envelope opens and Iím planning on putting a letter to Hogwarts in it and some photos of our family.

Indominus  Rex (Jurassic World)

Lumiere

Lion King (when I first stared this page, I wasnít convinced- but it actually is now my most favourite)

Ice (Olaf)- this page has an I-Spy bag quality to it, with the sparkles being able to be shaken around

Ewok

Iíve now, admittedly, become quite obsessed with stitching these pages and am considering adding pages to it with each passing holiday.

Enjoy!

That will become a family heirloom, to be passed down from baby to baby in the family, I am sure of that!

Amazing creation!  I like all the different tactile activities you incorporated into your design--those are sure to delight a young child (and her parents).  It's a tough call, but I'm going to go with the Ewok (Wicket I presume?) as my favorite page (Hedwig is my runner-up pick).  I have a topsy-turvy doll with a tulle overskirt on the dress that has sequins inside of it that you can shake around like the background you made for the Olaf page--it's fun to see that used here in a different way.

OMG I love this!!! Such a great idea. I have a little one coming in the family (not mine - I'm DONE), and will have to keep this in mind!
