I used a clay body very similar to porcelain and a rutile glaze in these bowls. The soda firing is not as exciting, but it's different, as it turns the bare clay more of a grey-ish color (instead of white as it would at cone 10, or orangy as a lot of clay bodies do in the soda).






I think one of my favorite parts of these bowls is the beautiful scarring from the wadding on the bottom:
