I had this gorgeous art deco shadowbox and decided to feature some Victorian superstitions inside.  There are so many to choose from!

I lined the shadowbox with red vellum scrapbook paper.  The chipboard bat's eyes are bits from the inside of a glow in the dark garden stake that I took apart.  My version of a mourning pendant was made from a snippet of doll's hair held in place with a ribbon, a small metal tin with a clear lid and a scrap of pretty scrapbook paper.  The vapours are just a tiny bit of wool from one of our sheep inside a glass bottle. The 'corpse eye coins' are video arcade tokens. The frog is a toy plastic one and the iron nails came from my husband's toolbox.

I love the goth-Victorian vibe of the piece.  Cheesy

Very cool.  But I can't stop myself from pointing out that the beautiful box is Art Nouveau, not Deco!

I agree, Art Nouveau, and a really fabulous representation of it too. Will you display this at home year round or is it for the spooky season? I'd love close-ups of the bits and labels, I'm trying to read them but not quite making them out.

My bad.  Deco is how it is sold.  I plan to keep it up all year, CLM!  Here are the labels I used for the display.
