I used to work in an elementary school and the library staff was culling the book collection. When I saw this book in the discard pile, I knew I wanted to turn it into a journal. That was 10 years ago...

But, I finally decided to tackle the task.

I decided that my money journal should have ledger pages, so I ordered a couple of ledger pads from Amazon.

Then, I cut out the pages of the book, and cut the cover in half along the spine (I did that part on the paper cutter).

Next, I trimmed the ledger pages down to size. I ended up losing the first column of the ledger sheet, but it should still be fine.

The inside!

I haven't decided what to use it for, yet. Maybe I'll start investing and use it to keep track of my millions! Cheesy

Thank you! One of the covers is a little mis-aligned (I should have cut them last), but its just for me, so its okay.

And now, Im starting to eye the other books I have stacked up for journal-making.

I love it! There is just something about books turned into blank books/journals that gets me right in the feels.

I know what you mean! On the one hand, I hate cutting up a book, but on the other hand, it was destined for the dumpster, so it has a new life. I love to make them, but I want to keep them all!

I have bought a few over the years, but not (yet) made any! Do you use a Bind-it-all or a more industrial machine?

I use a Bind-It-All, but the slot for putting things in for punching isn't very wide (not the length, the thickness... it's about 1/8") , which could be a problem if I have a thicker book cover. One cover just fit.

Thanks! Im really happy that I decided to use the ledger paper for it. It perfectly fits the cover theme.
