I picked up this shirt at a free clothing swap a year or two ago with no plans other than "I like this."

So I attempted to make my first shirt pattern, traced carefully from a well-fitting tank. Record sleeve cardboard makes for a sturdy base!

I had a red t-shirt that I had already cut up a bit, and decided that red/blue was a classic Pokemon combo.

I tried to block the blue pieces in a way that looked intentional and interesting!

The pieces are all serged together, and I did some careful ironing and pinning for the hems before using my regular machine.

My hemming method still needs a few tweaks, but I'm very happy with it over all!

ooh I love this! Well done - it's great the way the back of the shirt carries the same colours - I'm now wishing I'd kept my son's pikachu t shirt....

Great transformation and I agree that the red/blue combo works great considering how important those two hues are to the franchise.  Very professional-looking work!

I'm currently playing Pokmon Shuffle on my Nintendo 2DS these days, which is an awesome (and free!) game.

I was wondering where you found such a well-fitting pokemon shirt when I saw you wearing it! Nicely done, looks store-bought!
