My trashy stash has hatched more fire dragonflies. These were made for an assemblage swap, but I have several more in progress for donating to our church fundraising holiday fair.

I made a larger fire dragonfly earlier in the summer for my garden https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=455229.0 and realized that these were a perfect item for an assemblage swap. https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=455468.0. I had so much fun I started 4 of them and finished two.

Heavy gauge fence wire from the hardware store (formed and then hammered flat), a Bic pen body, glass teardrop ornaments, beads, florist wire, bottle caps, rusted hardware, some springs from who knows where, failed shrinkies experiment using a plastic cup (they came out very odd shaped, but were perfect for this project), and E6000.

and an in-progress look.

I already saw and commented on the one that you did for the swap, but, it's cool to see that you ran with it and made some additional specimens too!  I also like the ornament ends of the abdomens, and the suspended debris/wires in the interior of the wings is an awesome way to represent veins/spots.  Love them curly spiral antennae too!

There's not much in this world that can't be improved by either chocolate, bacon or glitter.

I love mine, too! I couldn't bear to put it outside, so she's hanging suckered to my bedroom window. There are heart shaped crystals that throw rainbows on my wall.

The shrinky-dinks are one of my favorite bits!

Thank you. These were really a joy to make. I so glad they've flown to new homes. And they really do rust to perfection in the garden. Trust me.

Me either.  If it had came rusted I would have thought it was a great touch but I can't purposefully do it!
