I decided to participate in this challenge sort of last-minute. I was doing yard work and came across these stones that were just begging to be painted (also found a few Petoskey stones and other fossils Shocked). Not sure what to paint, I just went with something I've done before - nebulae/stars in UV-reactive paint.

My kids and I will be hiding them this weekend around town.

Wonderful assortment of cosmic rocks!   I'm sure that these will get picked up by others quickly.  And, wow, you're lucky that you can find Petoskey stones (Michigan's state stone, which is actually fossilized coral, for those of you that may not know) in your yard--I've lived here my entire life and never found a single one in the wild (I just don't live in the right area I guess).

Thanks, everybody!

The Petoskey stones were mixed in with the river rocks we had around our bushes, so, not really "in the wild." We had our bushes removed last Fall and the areas where they were are getting a bit overgrown with weeds. I was pulling the weeds up when I noticed them.

What's a petoksey stone, and what kind of fossils?  Sounds interesting!
