I have been painting rocks for my local area and hiding them for several months although no one has ever posted their finds I continue to hide them.  Maybe this one will finally be posted on our site Baytown rocks!

I have called it rock my skull .  It is 9 inches by approx 6 inches.  I enjoy doing the larger rocks which I purchase at the local dirt/rock/mulch etc corner lot.  They are called pancake rocks since they have a semi flat surface and are big.  I bought 6 of them for less than 15.00 dollars they are sold by the lb.

That is perfect! Which came first, the sugar skull idea or the rock shape?  They work great together

No, quaggy, that rock wasn't meant for this challenge...it was meant to go to meeeeeeee! Grin

You are so lucky you can buy your rocks easily.  I had to search all over for mine.  Finally found the ideal ones at the end of the road, in a tiny beachy area in a wealthy part of town.  The house next to it had a driveway made using the rocks, and the ones I found must've been extra ones.

Rock come firsts then I stare at it for a few days but when I was digging in their 3 ft x 4 ft bin  that one jumped out as a sugar skull so I nabbed it.  Most of them I paint are scenes.  I have found a few Santa, dog face and butterfly rocks that sang to me.

WOW! I will say what everyone else is saying...it's the perfect rock for the sugar skull! And your painting is amazing!

In my area, my friend and I too tried to start up a local rock painting group, but it never took off. We painted and hid a bunch, and tried to get the community involved, but that never happened.  Some of the bigger areas near us are very active in this though, so maybe your rock will be posted finally!
