Reverse mermaids always crack me up and I love how they challenge perceptions about beauty.  Having both legs and a tail would probably allow them to swim pretty quickly too!  You did a great job on your rendition and I particularly like the lovely leg sleeves of tattoos--that dagger in her thigh looks painful though!  The ornate black frame is wicked cool as well.

I'm paraphrasing here, but, I think it was Columbus, who, when he first saw a manatee, which people used to think were mermaids, remarked, "They're not as beautiful as I was led to believe."  Grin
