Found some delicious, swirly, iridescent glass in a colleague's studio, and after a little glass trade, I made these lotus blossoms with terminated quartz towers in the center, and terminated needle quartz stamens! They're just big enough to cup in both hands, about 5" across. The peacock green i wasn't sure about, but it ended up being my fave. I mean, what color is that?? It's so alive!

Gorgeous! Love the glass that you chose. I have been wanting to get back into stained glass -- this feels like a fun project to try!

Wow, those are really beautiful; I've never seen 3-dimensional stained glass flowers before.  I agree that the peacock green was is visually the most striking out of the three.  How do you assemble the petals together, welding/soldering?

@patraw, after tinning the edges with solder, I arranged the petals in an overlapping circle in a cereal bowl, so that the petals were cupped in the bowl and held in the 3d position I wanted. Then I tack-soldered the base and edges of all the petals, then properly soldered all the way around. Then I set the crystal in the center and held the inner petals in place, and tack-soldered them with the solder that was already on the lower petals. Once they were tacked, I soldered them in place properly, letting it pool around the crystal to hold that in place, then re-melted existing solder to add the stamens in, just pushing them in and holding in place while the solder was soft. Then wash with soap and water!

You are right - these ARE deliciously beautiful.  And the 3 together make a lovely vignette.
